A hands-on proficiency based program designed for entry level employment in the medical field, doctor’s office, multi-specialty clinic and urgent care. You will learn various techniques such as EKG’s, vital signs, venipuncture and more. FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE
This class prepares the student to work as a Pharmacy Technician in the retail community, hospital inpatient pharmacies and other related areas. Upon completion of the program, you will be qualified to apply for the California Pharmacy Technician Board License. FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE
This course offers an exciting and rewarding career in the Medical Assisting Clinical industry. Training consists of hands-on techniques in injections, venipunctures, EKG's, urinalysis, vital signs, autoclave and many other back office procedures.
This program prepares the student to work in the front office, reception area of a medical office, clinic or hospital. The core curriculum includes: Patient Billing, Coding (CPT, ICD-9-CM, HCPCS) Insurance claims, scheduling appointments, medical terminology, Basic Office (check register, payroll, day-sheet) and vital signs. You will learn the basic concepts and procedures to perform the tasks involved in health insurance as well as insurance claim forms. You will also gain knowledge of medical terminology, basic coding definitions and how to apply those codes to medical documentation. This course will assist in the preparation of the National Physician Coding Exam.
ITC offers other areas of training such as Office Specialist, Data Entry and Filing. Become Microsoft Certified in Access 2007, Word 2007, Excel 2007, Power Point 2007, Publisher 2007 and Windows Vista. The Information and Technology Center is authorized by Microsoft as an IT Academy. This means we can offer world-class computer technology training with real-world skills. This class is a multi-level basic-to-advanced automobile training program. You will learn all you need to know to work in a repair shop environment. Students will use computer programs and will be ready for entry level auto mechanic jobs or advanced training. FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE
Day Care Workers are in demand. Learn to work as a teacher’s aide in preschool or other childcare related occupations. Find out how to open a home Day Care center. Learn to care for young children using age appropriate techniques. Have fun learning how to use art, music, games and cooking to teach children. Students gain understanding of health and safety factors that govern child care centers.
Prepare for a career as an electrician by studying basic electricity and residential home wiring, industrial wiring, schematic layout, blueprint reading and introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Learn the basics of small restaurant management and catering in a hands-on learning environment. Students will also be prepared to take the Certified Food Handlers Exam. This course covers food preparation, customer service, table set-up and basics of small restaurant management. The law mandates that one person in a facility must be a certified food handler. Obtaining this certificate enables you to enter the culinary field at a higher level. This culinary program is in partnership with the Food Services Unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
